Ja, te lang en te veel zitten kan rugklachten veroorzaken. Lange periodes in dezelfde (en vooral verkeerde) houding zitten, kan leiden tot spanning op de rugspieren met pijn en ongemak in de rug als gevolg. Heel veel beeldschermwerkers nemen een gebogen zithouding aan: afgeronde rug en naar voren hangende schouders. Zorg er dus voor dat je mooi rechtop zit<\/span><\/strong><\/a> tijdens het werk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Te veel zitten draagt ook bij aan zwakke rug- en buikspieren, omdat ze niet actief worden gebruikt. Zwakke spieren bieden minder ondersteuning aan de wervelkolom en kunnen bijdragen aan rugpijn. Behalve rugpijn heb je door te veel te zitten meer kans op hart- en vaatziekten, diabetes en zelfs burn-out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wat kan je het best doen om rugklachten door langdurig zitten te voorkomen? Heel eenvoudig: meer bewegen. Door bijvoorbeeld regelmatig een pauze te nemen en van houding te wisselen (zoals rechtstaand werken<\/span><\/strong><\/a> of vergaderen).
